Pursued methods of collaboration with peer organizations based on best practices for software development. Created a consortium strategy based on shared community Intellectual Property assets and collaborative software production principles. Leveraged Open-Source software and the collaborative development methods to create a web Content Management System shared with local governments. Winner of the 2008 Havlick Award for Innovation in Local Government.
Nominated in the top 100 Dreamers and Drivers by the Government Technology Magazine. Developed a strategy to replace legacy mainframe custom developed applications with packaged software solutions, software as a service and modern web based custom software applications.
Developed a career path for employees to migrate their skills from mainframe programming to project management, business analysis and full stack software developers. Managed a vendor contract in implementing 70 miles of 48 strands of fiber network for the City in 2004. The network connects City facilities to the Data Center and provides connectivity to all city employees to the wide area network. Operated the network with full time staff of network engineers. Developed network redundancy by routing the traffic in the opposite direction of any
cable cut.
