Doru Supeala

Doru Șupeală is a Marketing and Business strategist and consultant, Managing Director at SPOR – (The School for Responsible People), CEO of Playmaker Consulting, author of the “HackingWork” weekly podcast and newsletter, lecturer of the marketing module within the Executive MBA program of Transylvania Executive Education, and writer of marketing and business books. 

He has an MBA with Distinction from Hull University Business School, MA and BA in Marketing from Babeș-Bolyai University, and MA and BA in Communication Studies from Transylvania University Brașov. He is a PhD candidate at Babeș-Bolyai University, writing a thesis on the management of creativity and innovation in disruptive organizations (”The climate for Innovation in the Romanian Software Industry”), and initiated the creativity experiments named ”Fabrica de Idei” (The Idea Factory) – delivered as sessions and camps. 

Doru worked in top management positions in Marketing, Communication and Procurement in several local and multinational companies, such as Selgros, IKEA, Betfair, Onyx Beacon, Ramada Brașov or InNuts Fund. He also worked as journalist and editing manager at ProTV, Radio Brașov and MixMediaGroup, and as communication consultant for Autoliv, the biggest global producer of safety automotives.

At SPOR School, which he founded in 2019, he leads a masterclass and an Employer Branding workshop, develops a Leadership program and initiates creativity experiments “f(i) The Idea Factory”, through which he helps professionals, teams and organizations to systematically practice and apply practical, interactive, and fun ways to come up with new ideas.

He published two books: the “Employer Branding 100% – the practitioner’s handbook – published by Curtea Veche Publishing in September 2021, and a book about technology-based marketing (“Experience Makes a Difference – Proximity Marketing for Millennials” – Libris Publishing House, 2017). A few academic articles about employer branding (”Inspire to hire and win the war for talents” – Marketing ID Journal – 2019 – DeGruyter, Berlin), and Creativity & Innovation Management have him as an author or co-author.

He believes that the professional future of most of us will be rich and happy if we invest our energy and enthusiasm in projects and teams concerned with creativity, freedom, integrity, lifelong learning, collaboration, honest communication and innovation.
